Better Block Spam Emails + Fixes - Mailster v1.4.1

We are happy to share that we just released Mailster v1.4.1.

Block Spammers with Wildcard-Addresses

We have made improvements to the "Blocked Email Addresses" feature which is a global setting (cross all your mailing lists) to protect you from SPAM. Previously you could already block single email addresses and email addresses begining with a certain phrase.

mailster settings blocked email addresses

In order to make this even more flexible, we now also allow more flexible wildcard addresses.

Wildcard means, that only a part of the sender address has to be match - the domain and/or the local part (the name before the @-character) is checked for.

One example is the wildcard address *mail.ru - this mean, that all email addresses ending with @mail.ru will be filtered out.

Another example is the wildcard address no-reply@* - this means that all email addresses that start with no-reply@ will not be forwarded.

You can also combine this, e.g. *@*.in or *@example.*

Subscribe Forms w/o Page Refresh + New reCAPTCHA - Mailster v.1.4

Today we have released Mailster v1.4 - we share the highlights below.

ajax subscribeSubscribe Forms Without Page Refresh

All subscribe/unsubscribe forms do no longer require a page reload in order to submit the data.

This makes the process smoother and better integrates the process into your site's layout.

reCAPTCHA v2

Requested by many of our users, we have finally replaced the old reCAPTCHA version through the new one-click-captcha.

This replaces the previous reCAPTCHA captcha protection which is no longer included in Mailster. Site owners will have to get new reCAPTCHA API Keys from Google and store them in Mailster's configuration in order to take advantage of the new captcha.

Ready for Joomla 2.5 - 3.8.0

Our new release not only (still) supports Joomla 2.5, but also all Joomla 3 versions up to the recently released Joomla 3.8.

More Improvements

Mailster v.1.3.3 released

Today we have published a bug fix release for all Mailster product editions.

Read about the details of the fixes and improvements in version 1.3.3 in the changelog.

Mailster v1.3.2 released

We are happy to announce the release of Mailster v1.3.2.

It is mainly a bugfix release but also brings various improvements for better performance, compatibility and usability.
Below some of the highlights, the full list can be found in the changelog.

CSV Import

We made our CSV import a little smarter so that the algorithm detects the most typical file formats automatically.
Furthermore it warns the user when the CSV file is too large to be processed at once.

Performance Improvements

High traffic lists which have a send limit (like 100 emails per hour) in place may end up with larger email queues at any given time. In previous version that could lead to situations where the (daily / weekly / monthly) digests where not send out in the defined schedule.
To avoid this Mailster now alternates between sending emails and digests as a first step in each send run.

PHP 7.0 Compatibility

The PHP 7.0 version issues messages warning about functionality that may be unsupported in future versions.
These are not critical in any way but we made an effort to change the code to avoid the messages being issued.

Translation Updates

Because of a glitch, the German translation became unavailble in the last release.
Besides fixing this, the new release updates the French and Dutch translation.
